Georgia Governor Requests Biden to Veto LG-SK Battery Lawsuit
[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] The governor of Georgia, USA, has requested President Joe Biden to overturn the US International Trade Commission (ITC) ruling on SK Innovation and LG Energy Solution.
According to major foreign media on the 12th (local time), Governor Brian Kemp demanded a veto, stating that the decision could negatively impact the construction of SK Innovation's electric vehicle battery plant in Georgia.
Earlier, on the 10th, the ITC recognized SK Innovation's trade secret infringement in the lawsuit between SK Innovation and LG Energy Solution.
President Biden has the authority to reverse the ITC's decision, which includes an order to block the import of certain batteries into the US for 10 years, within 60 days.
