[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongwook Park] Pohang City announced on the 10th that over 4,500 cases were received online within three days of announcing the emergency relief support measures for industries affected by COVID-19, and 4.7 billion KRW was paid out.
Earlier, Mayor Lee Kang-deok announced on the 8th that 5.65 million KRW would be paid to 565 establishments such as karaoke bars and entertainment bars that participated in the gathering ban, and 1,130.3 million KRW each to 11,303 restaurants, cafes, singing practice rooms, and 100 bathhouses that voluntarily decided to suspend operations.
Additionally, Pohang City, planning to issue local love gift certificates worth 500 billion KRW, the largest scale nationwide this year, is focusing 300 billion KRW in the first half of the year to help increase sales for small business owners.
Along with this, to facilitate parking for returning visitors and to help recover the local shopping districts, public parking lots around traditional markets and shopping streets will be opened free of charge for 2 hours from the 9th until a separate lifting during the holiday period.
