This shopping event was conducted to support traditional market merchants who are economically struggling due to COVID-19 and the spread of large retail stores, with about 200 participants including county officials and related organization personnel.
The event was held on the regular market days of each traditional market, with visiting schedules divided by market, while adhering to COVID-19 prevention guidelines.
Governor Kim San said, “We held this event to create a warm holiday atmosphere and contribute to revitalizing the local economy in celebration of Seollal, the great national holiday,” and added, “We ask everyone to comply with prevention measures such as wearing masks and using hand sanitizer when visiting traditional markets to prevent COVID-19.”
