According to Namyangju City on the 10th, on the previous day (the 9th), Mayor Jo Gwang-han visited major facilities near Yongsan Station to develop concrete plans for revitalizing the area around Pyeongnae-Hopyeong Station.
During Mayor Jo's visit to Seoul, officials from Namyangju Urban Corporation, including its president, and city officials accompanied him.
The delegation visited Yongsan Station's I'Park Mall and Seoul Dragon City Hotel in sequence to experience the commercial facilities thriving around the station area and to investigate specific cases.
In particular, the delegation analyzed the factors that led I'Park Mall, regarded as a successful example of private investment station development, to become a central town center within the city, and planned to review aspects that could be applied to the facilities being developed in Namyangju.
Mayor Jo emphasized, "The challenge is to quickly grasp current trends and adapt them to our city's reality," adding, "To properly reflect the core needs of users of Pyeongnae-Hopyeong Station and nearby residents, consultation with public architecture experts is necessary."
Following this, the delegation visited Seoul Dragon City Hotel near Yongsan Station, where they listened to explanations from staff in charge of rooms by group and examined the rooms and interior decorations.
The public architect included in the delegation provided professional opinions on the facility and conducted an in-depth analysis of the Yongsan Station area revitalization case.
Previously, last year, city officials directly visited advanced spaces and public architecture cases such as the Apple Store on Garosu-gil in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, the Garosu alleys, and the Starfield Library at COEX to analyze them.
