[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Gwangyang City announced on the 9th that it will promote a support project to attract urban residents who wish to return to farming and rural areas this year.
The city increased the budget for returning to farming and rural areas by 190 million KRW to a project cost of 270 million KRW, and plans to implement various projects such as creating houses for returnees, experiencing life in Gwangyang, supporting farmhouse repair costs, mentor-mentee support projects, and community events in experience villages to revitalize rural areas by attracting urban residents to the countryside.
In particular, the 'Living in Gwangyang' project, starting for the first time this year, is a program where those wishing to return to farming and rural areas live in rural communities, interact with local residents, participate in various programs such as farming experience and job participation, and experience rural life in advance to encourage successful settlement.
Additionally, a Gwangyang City Return-to-Farming and Rural Areas Band has been established for prospective returnees interested in Gwangyang City to provide various customized information related to returning to farming and rural areas, serving as an online communication channel.
