Gyeongju City Holds First Town and Township Chiefs Meeting of the New Year... Mayor Ju Nak-yeong Plans to Proceed with 'Dialogue with Citizens'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] On the 8th, Gyeongju City held the first town, township, and neighborhood chiefs meeting of the new year
At the meeting, discussions were held on ▲ National Road No. 7 expansion project ▲ plans to promote participation in the Neighborly Love Happiness Sharing Campaign fundraising ▲ inspection of quarantine and livelihood response measures ▲ Lunar New Year environmental cleanup and visiting neighbors in need ▲ and wildfire prevention activities.
In particular, a report was given on the road expansion project for the frequently congested section of National Road No. 7 between Oedong Intersection and Mohwa Intersection in Oedong-eup. This section narrows from four lanes to two lanes, causing severe bottlenecks.
Choi Won-hak, head of Oedong-eup, explained, "The Busan Regional Land Management Office, the responsible agency, is currently conducting design services, and construction is scheduled to proceed in the second half of this year."
Additionally, discussions were held on the detailed schedule for the 'Dialogue with Citizens' to be held by town, township, and neighborhood from the 22nd of this month to the 11th of next month. Considering the COVID-19 situation, Gyeongju City plans to minimize the number of attendees through YouTube live broadcasts and replace the submission of agenda items with written forms.
