AstraZeneca Vaccine to Be Supplied Sequentially Starting from the 24th of This Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine will arrive starting from the 24th.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters (CDCH) stated in a reference document on the 8th, "At this point, AstraZeneca's vaccine is expected to be supplied sequentially over several days starting from the 24th."
Earlier, Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun responded to a question from a member of the People's Party during the National Assembly's Education, Social, and Culture government questioning session, saying, "The vaccine will arrive on the 24th," and it was confirmed that this vaccine is the AstraZeneca product.
The AstraZeneca vaccine, which will be supplied sequentially starting on the 24th, accounts for 750,000 doses (1.5 million doses) out of the 10 million doses contracted by the government with the pharmaceutical company.
Separately, the government has also agreed to import approximately 1.3 million doses (2,596,800 doses) of this vaccine within the first half of the year through the international project for joint vaccine procurement called the 'COVAX facility' (hereafter COVAX).

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety will hold a final inspection committee meeting on the 10th to decide whether to approve the AstraZeneca vaccine. The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency will review the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety's final decision and, after deliberation by the Vaccination Expert Committee, decide whether to adjust the vaccination plan.
