View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] As COVID-19 vaccination is scheduled to begin at the end of this month, Seo Jeong-hyeop, Acting Mayor of Seoul, met with the directors of 15 general hospitals at Seoul City Hall on the afternoon of the 8th to request cooperation and support for a smooth vaccination process.
Attendees included Kim Yeon-su, Director of Seoul National University Hospital; Shin Ho-cheol, Director of Kangbuk Samsung Hospital; and Kim Yong-sik, Director of The Catholic University of Korea Seoul St. Mary's Hospital. Acting Mayor Seo emphasized, "For the vaccination of 10 million citizens to proceed smoothly and stably, it is crucial that vaccination medical personnel are deployed in a timely manner," and requested medical personnel support for the upcoming 'Vaccination Centers.'
They also discussed whether to outsource the stable operation of the 'Vaccination Centers.' Seoul City plans to establish and operate a total of 30 'Vaccination Centers,' at least one in each autonomous district, utilizing sports facilities and other venues for COVID-19 vaccination. After vaccination, a 'Public-Private Joint Rapid Response Team' will be activated to monitor adverse reactions, and a dedicated call center will be operated for citizen convenience.
