Film import and distribution company Pan Cinema announced on the 8th that it will take legal action against the illegal copying and distribution of 'Minari.' This is due to the illegal distribution of the full movie on domestic and international illegal download sites ahead of its release on the 3rd of next month. The illegal distribution has expanded to online and mobile communities, personal cloud storage, and mobile messengers, prompting legal measures. A company representative explained, "We have confirmed numerous illegal posts and cloud sharing and are taking evidence collection and deletion measures through a specialized firm." They added, "Any act of unauthorized posting, distribution, sharing, or downloading of the full movie is a clear copyright infringement and a criminal act."

'Minari,' directed by Korean-American Lee Isaac Chung (Jeong Isaak), is a drama depicting the difficult life of a Korean immigrant family pursuing the American Dream in the 1980s. The film stars Steven Yeun, Han Ye-ri, and Youn Yuh-jung.
