Daejeon City Accelerates COVID-19 'Special Loss Support'... 22.7 Billion KRW Paid in First Round
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City is accelerating its special loss support for COVID-19.
On the 8th, the city announced that it has paid the first round of special loss support funds amounting to 22.7 billion KRW to 22,203 small business owners in industries subject to gathering bans or business restrictions since the 5th. This accounts for about 78% of the total eligible recipients (around 28,000).
The city will conduct additional payments on the 8th to 164 businesses requiring account verification due to account errors among the first payment recipients, after separate guidance and account confirmation.
Furthermore, based on additional government data for the Support Fund, the city plans to select the second payment recipients, send notification texts on the 9th, and disburse the special loss support funds on the 10th, aiming to complete payments to over 90% of all eligible recipients by the 10th.

Meanwhile, the city will also provide special loss support funds to small business owners managing multiple business locations who were omitted in the first and second payments. Eligible applicants can apply and receive support through the Daejeon Economic and Trade Promotion Agency website from the 15th to the 26th of this month.
