[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor You Deok-yeol) will support a birth congratulatory fund of up to 100,000 KRW when issuing birth congratulatory accounts at Saemaeul Geumgo and Shinhan Credit Union through the 'Low Birthrate Overcoming Birth Encouragement Business Agreement.'
The district signed the 'Low Birthrate Overcoming Birth Encouragement Business Agreement' in collaboration with all Saemaeul Geumgo and Shinhan Credit Unions in the region to address the low birthrate issue together with the local community.
If a bankbook is opened in the name of a newborn born this year at Saemaeul Geumgo or Shinhan Credit Union, the district will provide birth support funds to the corresponding account, and Saemaeul Geumgo and Shinhan Credit Union will separately provide birth congratulatory funds.
Saemaeul Geumgo provides 50,000 KRW of the 100,000 KRW support fund, and the remaining 50,000 KRW is jointly supported by the MG Saemaeul Hope Sharing Foundation.
Last year, a birth congratulatory fund of up to 60,000 KRW per person was supported, but this year it has significantly increased to 100,000 KRW.
Shinhan Credit Union expanded its support from 30,000 KRW last year to 50,000 KRW this year.
