Fire in Multi-Family Houses in Daerim-dong and Sinwol-dong, Seoul at Midnight... Two Elderly People Dead
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] Two elderly people died as fires broke out one after another in multi-family houses in Seoul during late-night hours.
According to the police and fire authorities, a fire occurred around 2:30 a.m. on the 6th on the 3rd floor of a commercial-residential building in Daerim-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. The fire burned one apartment and continued for 40 minutes before being extinguished around 3:10 a.m.
One man in his 70s with mobility difficulties died in the fire, and six residents evacuated. Two people who inhaled smoke were transported to the hospital for treatment.
Also, around 11:25 p.m. the previous day, a fire broke out in a villa in Sinwol-dong, Yangcheon-gu, resulting in the death of a 90-year-old man. The fire lasted about 28 minutes and was extinguished around 11:53 p.m.

The fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fires, which are believed to have started in the rooms where the deceased resided.
