Hyundai Tucson Recalled in Australia Due to Engine Defect
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has confirmed the possibility of engine fires and decided to recall Hyundai Tucson vehicles.
The recall applies to 93,572 Tucson vehicles manufactured between 2014 and 2021.
The ACCC stated that the electronic circuit board installed in the anti-lock braking system (ABS) of the Tucson can cause a fire due to a short circuit when exposed to moisture.
The ACCC urged those who purchased a Tucson within the last six years to park their vehicles outdoors in areas free of flammable materials.
The recalled electronic circuit board remains powered at all times, meaning there is a risk of engine fire even when the ignition is turned off.
