6 Cases of New Cluster Infection at Dongdaemun-gu Hospital
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The number of new COVID-19 cases in Seoul has exceeded 100 for 79 consecutive days.
According to the Central Disease Control Headquarters and Seoul City on the 5th, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Seoul for the previous day was recorded at 126.
As a result, the daily count of new confirmed cases exceeding 100 has continued for 79 days from November 18 last year to the 3rd of this month. In particular, since the beginning of this month, the numbers have significantly exceeded 100 with 128, 188, 172, and 126 cases respectively.
The COVID-19 positivity rate was 0.5%. A total of 24,461 people were tested in Seoul, and the test results are expected to be released on the 5th.
Among the 126 new confirmed cases the previous day, 122 were locally transmitted and 4 were imported cases. These include 8 cases at a children's facility in Jungnang-gu, 7 cases at a sauna in Gangbuk, and 6 cases at a hospital in Dongdaemun-gu. The hospital infection in Dongdaemun-gu is a newly identified cluster infection.
