Gyeongbuk Uljin-gun, Traditional Market 'Jangbogi' Event for Lunar New Year
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk Province (Governor Jeon Chan-geol) will hold small-scale shopping events at seven traditional markets, including Uljin Bajige Market, until the 10th ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.
This Lunar New Year shopping event will be conducted with teams of four or fewer among about 600 public officials under the county to avoid congestion at the busy market, in accordance with COVID-19 social distancing guidelines, so that it practically helps merchants.
In addition, non-face-to-face shopping through the Uljin Bajige Market online shopping mall will be actively promoted.
Jeon Chan-geol, Governor of Uljin-gun, said, "I hope this event will be an opportunity to revitalize traditional markets that have been depressed due to COVID-19," and added, "I ask the residents to participate in revitalizing the local economy and traditional markets by purchasing Lunar New Year seasonal products at traditional markets."
