Eunpyeong-gu, Smart Informatization Training for Childcare Staff
Non-Face-to-Face ZOOM Usage Training to Prevent Communication Disruption Between Daycare Centers and Families Due to COVID-19
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) will conduct a “Smart ZOOM Usage” training on the 9th to enable continuous online communication between daycare centers and families, preventing communication breakdowns due to long-term daycare closures and emergency childcare caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Even though the social distancing level has been lowered and daycare centers have resumed operations, it remains necessary to maintain a certain distance and exercise caution to ensure the safety of infants and childcare staff.
Accordingly, daycare centers are actively seeking ways to communicate with families by operating counseling, parent education, and open daycare programs; however, many still find non-face-to-face operations awkward and challenging.
The Eunpyeong-gu Childcare Support Center, which provides various training programs for childcare staff, urgently switched to fully online training for childcare workers in 2020 due to COVID-19, experiencing various difficulties during the process and realizing the urgent need for informatization education in the field.
Considering various circumstances, it was determined that daycare centers also need methods to connect with parents and the local community remotely, and support through professional informatization education is necessary to smoothly operate online platforms.
The Eunpyeong-gu Childcare Support Center, which is promoting this training, has designed the content to be easy and enjoyable by focusing on the basic usage of ZOOM, which can be easily utilized in the field, planning for immediate application in upcoming new semester orientations, parent education, and more.
In addition to lectures, an open chat room will be created during the training to provide materials and allow free Q&A sessions, enabling participants to resolve their questions in real time.
Kim Dong-won, the instructor with years of experience in online education who shares know-how with teachers and professional instructors in the field, said, “Due to COVID-19, non-face-to-face communication has become a necessity rather than a choice,” adding, “This will be a time to learn how to use ZOOM easily and enjoyably and apply it immediately in the field.”
The training targets two people per daycare center, including the director and middle managers, and will carefully review the education needed for non-face-to-face daycare operations to provide necessary training on site.
Future training plans can be found on the Eunpyeong-gu Childcare Support Center website.
