Collected 90 'Love Piggy Banks' from Daycare Children
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jung-gu, Seoul (Mayor Seoyangho) received a donation from children of Hansol Daycare Center at 10:30 a.m. on the 2nd in the mayor's office on the 3rd floor of Jung-gu Office.
On this day, two children from the daycare center, who visited Jung-gu Office with their teacher, donated 1,023,830 won collected together with their daycare friends to be used for neighbors in need due to COVID-19.
Last year, the daycare children recycled milk cartons to make 'Love Piggy Banks' to help neighbors in need. They collected coins one by one each time they kept a promise made with their parents.
Hansol Daycare Center decided to donate the piggy banks collected by the children for the Lunar New Year. The children poured the coins they collected into the 'Love Pot' placed in the center of the daycare, and the amount collected from 90 piggy banks was 623,830 won. Adding the teachers' contributions, a total of 1,023,830 won was raised.
The donation from Hansol Daycare Center to Jung-gu Office will be delivered to families with infants and toddlers struggling due to COVID-19 through the Jung-gu Dream Heart Project.
Hong Sunok, director of Hansol Daycare Center, said, "Many families are having difficulties due to COVID-19. I hope the donation collected with the children will be a small help to them and contribute to having a warm holiday."
