Suncheon City Supports Disposal of Grade 1 Carcinogen 'Asbestos Slate' and Roof Improvement Assistance
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 3rd that it will promote a slate disposal support and roof improvement project by November to protect citizens' health from asbestos slate, a Group 1 carcinogen.
Suncheon City plans to spend 2.3 billion KRW this year to demolish slate from 705 buildings, which is a 43% increase compared to last year, securing the largest project budget in Jeollanam-do.
The slate disposal project is divided into 435 houses, 235 non-residential buildings such as warehouses and livestock sheds, and roof improvement for 35 vulnerable households. This year, the support budget for roof improvement for vulnerable groups will be provided up to 10 million KRW, and the slate disposal project for non-residential buildings will be expanded from the existing 50㎡ to 200㎡.
Those who wish to apply for the slate disposal project support can submit an application form and required documents such as photos of the building's current status to the administrative welfare center of the building's location starting from the 8th.
