Gwangyang-si, Comprehensive Cleaning Measures for Lunar New Year Promotion
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Gwangyang City announced on the 3rd that it will implement a 'Comprehensive Cleaning Plan for Lunar New Year' for large-scale cleaning and household waste collection by eup, myeon, and dong to change the stagnant atmosphere caused by COVID-19 and allow citizens to enjoy a more pleasant and clean environment during the Lunar New Year holiday.
Starting tomorrow, about 1,000 people including public officials, related organizations, and citizens will conduct large-scale cleaning focusing on environmentally vulnerable areas such as major roadsides, vacant urban lots, and multi-use facilities.
In addition, through the simultaneous cleaning and disinfection of 186 public restrooms in the region, a pleasant living environment will be provided to visitors and citizens visiting the city.
Furthermore, to minimize citizens' inconvenience caused by uncollected waste during the Lunar New Year holiday, the Resource Circulation Division will operate a comprehensive situation room from the 11th to the 14th to respond to household waste complaints.
On the Lunar New Year day, when household waste collection does not take place, and on Sunday the 14th, two mobile collection teams will be temporarily operated in Gwangyang-eup and Jungma-dong to respond to emergency situations.
