[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Juhyung] In the Gyeongbuk region, after a daughter who arrived from overseas, her mother was also infected with the COVID-19 variant virus, putting quarantine authorities on high alert.
According to Gyeongbuk Province on the 1st, Ms. A, who arrived at Incheon Airport from Dubai on the 12th of last month, tested positive for COVID-19 on the 14th.
Subsequently, on the 27th, she was confirmed to be infected with a variant virus originating from the Republic of South Africa.
Ms. A was asymptomatic when diagnosed and is known to have stayed in Dubai for an extended period. Additionally, following Ms. A, her mother, Ms. B, was also confirmed to be infected with the variant virus on the 1st.
Ms. B visited a hospital for another test, underwent a COVID-19 test, and was diagnosed positive.
