The county set a goal of securing 218.9 billion KRW in 2022, the largest ever, to secure the national and provincial subsidy budget, which is the largest source of financial dependence for the county.
At the report meeting, the projects discussed for budget securing strategies included 99 projects, including 46 new projects, focusing on the realization of the six major visions for the second half of the 7th local government term proposed by the county in July last year.
Major new projects include 4 billion KRW for the Geochang-type New Deal sector On-Site hydrogen charging station construction, 3 billion KRW for renewable energy convergence, 2.6 billion KRW for regional energy new business activation, 4 billion KRW for leading smart sewage management systems, and a representative project of 20 billion KRW for the smart elevator demonstration platform construction project.
To leap forward as an anti-aging and healing city, there are projects such as the expansion of the Geochang Changpohwon green infrastructure with 15.2 billion KRW, and urban regeneration New Deal projects worth 39.4 billion KRW in the market district, Gimcheon, and Daepyeong district living areas for future city Geochang infrastructure expansion and development.
In the agricultural sector, new projects discovered include 40 billion KRW for the creation of a future-type smart apple complex, 18 billion KRW for the establishment of an organic agricultural complex service support complex, 7.7 billion KRW for the construction of an emergency supply network for local waterworks, and 2.7 billion KRW for smart pipeline management infrastructure construction.
The county plans to actively propose these projects to the provincial and central government ministries through continuous visits, persuasion, and development of Geochang-gun’s unique advantage logic until the end of May, when the final national subsidy applications are submitted.
Along with this, for national direct implementation projects such as the second Geochang Changpohwon construction worth 56.8 billion KRW, Hwanggang riverside leisure space creation project worth 2.6 billion KRW, and the southern bypass road opening worth 43.9 billion KRW, the county plans to prepare step-by-step response strategies to ensure that the county’s opinions are reflected as much as possible during the promotion.
Governor Goo said, “Since securing the budget is more important than anything else for the future growth of the county as the discovered projects become a reality, please do your best to secure the budget, including establishing response strategies during the remaining period.”
