Seongbuk-gu Supports Apartment Revitalization Projects with 2 Million to 20 Million KRW Funding
Community Revitalization, Senior Security Officers, Open Apartments, and Management Support Sector Competitions
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) is accepting applications for the multi-family housing support project to establish a culture of open apartments that communicate, from January 25 to February 26, for five weeks.
This multi-family housing support project targets multi-family housing complexes with 30 or more households located in Seongbuk-gu and includes calls for proposals in the following areas: ▲Community revitalization (resident communication, hobby and health classes, etc.) ▲Senior security guards (patrol activities within the complex) ▲Open apartments (space improvement and community activities through openness) ▲Management support (maintenance of common facilities, etc.). Complexes wishing to apply must submit an application to the Housing Policy Division of Seongbuk-gu Office after approval by the residents' representative meeting.
The selection of support targets will be announced in March after document review, on-site investigation, and deliberation by the Seongbuk-gu Multi-family Housing Deliberation Committee. Selected complexes will receive up to 8 million KRW for community revitalization projects, up to 2 million KRW for senior security guard projects, up to 20 million KRW for open apartment projects, and up to 15 million KRW for management support projects.
In particular, this year, to improve the working environment of security guards, complexes can apply for up to 2 million KRW per complex for security guard cooling and heating facility improvement projects, overlapping with the management support category.
Since 2011, Seongbuk-gu has been promoting the multi-family housing support project. Last year, it supported a total of 117 complexes with 320 million KRW for community revitalization and senior security guard projects, and 42 complexes with 300 million KRW for management support projects.
Especially in the community revitalization area, small-scale multi-family housing and rental apartments without a project promoter can participate in the project by partnering with welfare organizations. In the management support area, the self-payment rate for small-scale multi-family housing has been eased to 40%, and if a residents' representative meeting is not formed, applications can be made with the consent of at least four-fifths of the residents, thereby expanding participation opportunities.
Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, stated, “I thank all residents who created warm daily lives with neighbors through apartment community activities despite the difficult situation caused by COVID-19 last year. As the proportion of multi-family housing continues to increase, I hope this multi-family housing support project will help apartments become happy residential spaces where communication and coexistence are possible.”
