Pohang City Recruits Public Transportation Citizen Monitoring Team... Weekly 'Bus Satisfaction' Evaluation
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Pohang City announced on the 30th that it will recruit a 'Public Transportation Citizen Monitoring Group' to help improve satisfaction and service of public transportation through evaluations of bus operation and service from February 1 to 15.
The recruitment targets 100 Pohang citizens who have lived in the city for more than one month as of the application date and use the bus at least once a week and at least five times a month.
Interested citizens can apply via smartphone or the internet (Pohang City website). The activity period is until the end of this year, and participants will evaluate their frequently used bus routes after riding, based on seven items in three areas: bus operation status, friendliness, and vehicle management.
The Public Transportation Citizen Monitoring Group will receive an activity fee of 30,000 KRW for transportation card recharge upon meeting certain activity criteria (at least once a week, at least five times a month, and submitting evaluations for three consecutive months). Additionally, if desired, participants can receive up to 10 hours of volunteer service credit per month as an incentive for their monitoring activities.

Shin Gang-su, head of Pohang City's Public Transportation Division, urged, "We ask participating citizens to have a sense of mission that they can change public transportation services and to conduct objective and fair evaluations," encouraging wide participation.
