Korea Yakult Geumdang Branch and ‘Munan Business’ Agreement... Twice-Weekly Beverage Delivery and Sharing of ‘Special Notes’
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Pungam-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Daeseok) is promoting welfare checks for elderly living alone through the delivery of health drinks.
On the 29th, Seo-gu announced that the Pungam-dong Administrative Welfare Center and Korea Yakult Geumdang Branch signed an agreement to promote a welfare check project for elderly living alone.
The signing ceremony was attended by Jang Jaehoon, manager of Korea Yakult Geumdang Branch, and Kwon Jaehwan, chairman of the Pungam-dong Community Security Council, among others.
Under this agreement, Korea Yakult Geumdang Branch will provide health drinks to 60 elderly living alone in the district who require welfare checks until the end of this year.
The health drinks will be delivered twice a week (8 times a month), and delivery personnel plan to share any notable health conditions or other special matters by checking on the elderly during delivery.
This project is expected to contribute to preventing solitary deaths by continuously checking on elderly living alone, going beyond simply delivering health drinks.
A Pungam-dong official said, “We appreciate the support given to the elderly in the community who are facing difficulties due to COVID-19,” and added, “We will strive to promote more diverse welfare projects.”
