[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] Korea Development Bank (KDB) announced on the 28th that it has finally selected 15 startups for the first half of this year's startup incubation program, 'KDB NextOne 2nd Cohort,' and will begin a five-month incubation program at Mapo Front1 starting in February.
A total of 223 companies applied for the KDB NextOne 2nd Cohort, recording a competition rate of about 15 to 1, and innovative companies in various fields such as digital new deal sectors including artificial intelligence (AI) and big data, advanced manufacturing, and non-face-to-face platform services were finally selected.
The selected companies will receive support not only for office space but also for customized mentoring, IR consulting, and business linkage to foster practical growth. In addition, through organic connections with existing venture platforms currently operated by KDB, such as KDB NextRound (investment attraction support) and NextRise (business cooperation support), they will receive step-by-step and customized support.
Launched in July last year, KDB NextOne produced 15 startups in its 1st cohort, and the participating startups created numerous business achievements such as business partnerships and patent applications, as well as new jobs. In particular, eight of these companies succeeded in attracting a total investment of 7.2 billion KRW.
