NesM Changes Company Name to ‘COWON’... Lee Seunghoon Appointed as Co-CEO
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] NesM (CEO Shin Hyunjong) announced on the 27th that it has resolved to change its company name back to its former name, 'COWON,' through an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders.
A company official stated, "The decision at this shareholders' meeting reflects our determination to revive the glory days of COWON, which once dominated as a global top brand known for delivering the highest sound quality in audio players."
Additionally, NesM has appointed a large number of new board members and named Lee Seunghoon, former Head of Business Planning at Neople, as co-CEO. Newly appointed CEO Lee Seunghoon said, "I will do my best to leverage my experience and know-how to rebirth COWON as a truly global game service company."
Furthermore, NesM has recruited numerous gaming industry experts by appointing Oh Sangyeon, who handled marketing for various games in the game portal and social casino sectors, and Han Wooyeop, currently Head of NesM’s Global Business Division and formerly of HanbitSoft, as inside directors. They also appointed Park Jihoon, chairman of KRG Soft, known for the online game Yeolhyeol Gangho, as an outside director.
COWON has been actively building a diverse game lineup and portfolio by consecutively signing publishing contracts for 'Spot' and 'Spot365,' sports-specialized platforms developed by LCC, and 'Dragon Raja EX,' developed by EXPO Games, as well as acquiring shares of Entori, the developer of 'Sibijicheon M.'
