The food safety philosophy of CJ CheilJedang is ‘prioritizing safety management from the customer’s perspective and taking the lead.’ A representative example is the Bibigo soup products produced at CJ CheilJedang’s Nonsan factory. All products have received HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) certification, and the production process is designed and operated to pass strict internal quality control standards from raw material receipt to final product shipment. Raw materials entering the factory must pass CJ CheilJedang’s inspection standards, which are stricter than the legally mandated specifications, before they can be used. The origin of raw materials is regularly monitored, and during the manufacturing process, a multi-verification system including raw material washing, foreign substance sorting, X-RAY inspection, and metal detection is implemented to strictly prevent the shipment of products contaminated with foreign substances or those that do not meet quality standards.
In December 2019, CJ CheilJedang received high praise from the Fair Trade Commission for its win-win growth case with one of its OEM partners, Gyodong Food. Gyodong Food is the OEM partner for the HMR (Home Meal Replacement) blockbuster product ‘Bibigo Yukgaejang.’ They focused on replicating the taste and quality of homemade Yukgaejang by performing tasks such as removing blood from the meat, simmering the broth for a long time, and shredding boiled brisket.
