Gwangju City Officially Begins Road Construction Around Gwangju Songjeong Station
0.88km Section from Songjeong Elementary School to Shindeok Underpass... Land Compensation This Year, Construction Starts Next Year
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 27th that it will actively promote a road construction project for a 0.88 km section from Songjeong Elementary School to Sindeok Underpass by investing 27 billion KRW to resolve the habitual traffic congestion around Gwangju Songjeong Station.
After conducting land compensation this year, construction is planned to begin next year. The project will be divided into two sections: 0.4 km from Songjeong Elementary School to Dosan-dong KAISTville 2nd Apartment, and 0.48 km from KAISTville 2nd Apartment to Sindeok Underpass.
The section from Songjeong Elementary School to Dosan-dong KAISTville 2nd Apartment will receive 3.5 billion KRW in national funding under the "Special Act on Support for Areas Surrounding U.S. Military Bases in Korea."
