Jeonnam Fire Department Conducts Joint Search and Rescue Training for Mountain Accident Preparedness
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Fire Department conducted a joint search and rescue training to prepare for mountain accidents.
On the 26th, according to the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Ma Jaeyoon), this training conducted by the 119 Special Rescue Team was promoted to enhance the on-site personnel's understanding of mountainous terrain and expertise in life rescue.
The training was held jointly with the Suncheon Fire Station Mountain Rescue Team in the Gwangui-myeon area of Gurye-gun (Jirisan).
In preparation for frequently occurring missing person accidents, the focus was on strengthening on-site response capabilities so that personnel can have confidence in search and rescue operations in winter heavy snow and mountainous terrain, ensuring safe and efficient rescue activities.
To respond to accidents (falls and missing persons) in mountainous terrain during winter, a virtual scenario (slip accident) was set, and aerial search (firefighting drones) and ground search (rescue dogs) were conducted simultaneously to improve the efficiency of search and rescue. Efforts were also made to strengthen the disaster response cooperation system among rescue teams.
