Gwangju Buk-gu Conducts Safety Inspections of Multi-use Facilities Ahead of Seollal Holiday
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Moon In) announced on the 25th that it will conduct safety inspections on 14 multi-use facilities, including traditional markets and large marts, where many residents are expected to gather, until the 5th of next month.
This inspection was prepared to raise awareness of facility management and to preemptively check for accident risk factors, as accidents occurring in multi-use facilities can lead to major disasters.
Accordingly, an inspection team composed of architecture, electrical, and fire safety experts will check ▲ faulty wiring and operation of leakage circuit breakers ▲ maintenance status of electrical and mechanical rooms ▲ securing of evacuation routes, replacement of fire extinguishers, and other safety management conditions ▲ compliance with legal standards and safety.
In particular, fire risks and structural safety of neglected or blind spot facilities will also be confirmed.
Buk-gu plans to immediately correct minor issues on-site based on the inspection results and manage serious issues until risk factors are resolved.
