President Moon's Approval Rating Rises to 40% Range After 8 Weeks [Realmeter]
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] A public opinion poll has revealed that President Moon Jae-in's approval rating has recovered to the 40% range for the first time in 8 weeks.
On the 25th, Realmeter announced that in a poll conducted from the 18th to the 22nd at the request of YTN, President Moon's approval rating for his administration's performance (positive evaluation) rose by 5.1 percentage points from the previous week to 43.0%. The disapproval rating fell by 4.4 percentage points to 53.2%, and the 'Don't know/No response' category decreased by 0.7 percentage points to 3.7%.
Realmeter explained that the positive evaluation of President Moon's administration has increased for two consecutive weeks, and that the approval rating surpassing 40% is the first time in 8 weeks since the fourth week of November last year (43.8%).
Regarding party support, the Democratic Party of Korea rose by 1.9 percentage points to 32.8%, overtaking the People Power Party. The People Power Party's support dropped by 3.3 percentage points to 28.6%.
Within the Democratic Party, the largest increase by age group was among those aged 70 and above, rising by 4.1 percentage points, followed by the 50s (3.9 percentage points) and 60s (3.5 percentage points).
This survey contacted 55,217 voters aged 18 and over nationwide, with a final 2,510 respondents completing the survey, resulting in a response rate of 4.5%. The sampling error is ±2.0 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
