Dongjak-gu Supports Up to 8 Million KRW for Apartment Community Revitalization Projects
Applications open from the 21st of this month to the 9th of next month for 166 apartment complexes and other multi-family housing... Community Revitalization Projects supported with 1 million to 8 million KRW, Space Creation Projects up to 5 million KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Lee Chang-woo) is conducting a “Support Project Contest for Revitalizing Apartment Communities” to create a better residential culture by spreading a sense of community with neighbors.
The support targets 166 apartment complexes and other communal housing within the area, with two recruitment fields: ▲Community Revitalization Projects ▲Community Space Creation Projects.
First, the Community Revitalization Projects include applications for projects that complexes plan to carry out on their own, such as ▲Eco-friendly practices and experiences ▲Resident communication and harmony ▲Hobbies and startups ▲Shared childcare ▲Shared living tool projects.
About 20 complexes with 150 or more households and about 3 complexes with fewer than 150 households will be selected, receiving support ranging from 1 million KRW up to 8 million KRW (3 million KRW for non-mandatory complexes).
Notably, last year, to help small business owners facing closure due to COVID-19, 185 participants from 7 complexes took part in a “Leather Craft Making” program linked to the community revitalization project, contributing to the recovery of the local economy.
Meanwhile, the Community Space Creation Project supports remodeling and facility costs necessary to create community spaces such as ▲Cultural lecture classrooms ▲Resident communal cafes by utilizing idle spaces within complexes. One complex will be selected and supported with up to 5 million KRW. However, at least 40% of the project cost must be self-funded.
The application period is from January 21 to February 9. The project proposal must be jointly prepared by the resident representative meeting and the complex management entity (including groups of 10 or more for community revitalization projects) and can be submitted by visiting the district office or by mail.
After the first document screening and second on-site evaluation, the final selected projects will be implemented from March to November.
