Gwangju Seo-gu Completes COVID Testing for 1,870 People Including Yangdong Market Merchants
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 20th that it has completed COVID-19 testing for 1,870 workers, including merchants of Yangdong Market.
This mass testing was conducted at the request of the market merchants' association. They secured a list of pre-designated test subjects and encouraged testing by identifying those who had not been tested each day.
As a result of the testing, one confirmed case was detected early, preventing further spread of COVID-19. So far, no additional confirmed cases related to Yangdong Market have occurred.
The merchants themselves have taken the initiative in creating a safe market by implementing special disinfection around Yangdong Market, strengthening social distancing among merchants, and adhering to individual hygiene rules.
