On the 19th, the Korea Meteorological Administration announced that due to the influence of cold air flowing in from the northwest, a cold wave warning has been issued for the inland areas of the central region and Gyeongbuk inland, with the lowest morning temperatures on the 20th expected to remain around -15 to -10 degrees Celsius.
However, temperatures are expected to rise sharply during the day, bringing the entire country into positive temperature ranges and easing the current cold spell.
The morning low temperatures by region will range from -14 to 0 degrees Celsius, and the daytime high temperatures will be between 6 and 11 degrees Celsius.
A meteorological official emphasized, "In areas where snow has recently fallen, accumulated snow has frozen, creating many icy roads. Especially on side roads, sloped roads, shaded roads, and sidewalks, conditions are very slippery, making travel difficult. Please pay special attention to traffic safety and pedestrian safety."
In the East Sea, the central offshore area and the northern offshore area of the southern East Sea, where a storm warning has been issued, winds will blow very strongly at speeds of 25 to 45 km/h until night, and waves are expected to be very high at 2.0 to 3.5 meters.
