The Global Startup Academy was established in August last year through collaboration between the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Park Young-sun), SBC, and the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development to foster global startups in the field of artificial intelligence. In particular, the program attracted great attention as global leading companies in AI, world-class startup planners, and top domestic experts in AI participated.
Since his inauguration, Chairman Kim Hak-do has set digital innovation as one of the three major innovation strategies and has been focusing on supporting the digital transformation of small and medium enterprises. This meeting was organized to identify on-site difficulties faced by startups in innovative technology fields such as AI and to explore effective support measures.
First, Chairman Kim reviewed the operational performance of key support programs, including the AI-specialized education course at the Global Startup Academy. He then listened to and shared opinions on-site voices regarding startup activation and improvement plans for startup support with representatives of enrolled companies and expert mentors. Kim Do-yeop, CEO of ViewMejin, who attended the meeting, said, "The Kaggle-style practical project education within the specialized curriculum became the best opportunity for startups to prove and enhance their AI technological capabilities," adding, "I hope to achieve good results in future practical projects and have our technological capabilities recognized on the global stage."
