Gwangju Buk-gu, Awarded 'Best' in Local Tax and Non-Tax Revenue Management Evaluation
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Moon In) announced on the 17th that it was selected as the best institution in the analysis and diagnosis evaluation of local government non-tax revenue operation performance conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
This evaluation was conducted to improve the collection rate of local non-tax revenue, and 243 local governments nationwide were divided into 13 groups with similar population and finances, selecting one best and one excellent institution per group.
Buk-gu was classified in the autonomous district group and was selected as the best district among autonomous districts nationwide, receiving an institutional commendation and a financial incentive of 40 million won.
In particular, efforts to improve the collection rate, such as forming a dedicated non-tax revenue team, holding collection reporting meetings, and conducting training for practitioners, led to a favorable evaluation.
