Muan-gun Provides Opportunities for a 'Healthy Life' Through Job Creation for the Elderly
Business Progress Over 11 Months... 2,058 Recruited, Jobs Provided
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 15th that it will carry out the 2021 Senior Job and Social Activity Support Project starting from the 18th to promote active retirement life and health improvement for local seniors.
The county will invest 7.49 billion KRW to conduct the project for 11 months from January to November. A total of 2,058 people will be recruited and provided jobs, including 505 from Muan County, 483 from the Korea Senior Citizens Association Muan Branch, 347 from the Korea Senior Citizens Association Jeollanam-do Federation, 230 from the Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, and 493 from the Muan Senior Club.
Before starting the jobs, education will be provided using workbooks to prevent the spread of COVID-19, covering safety rules, health management, and infectious disease prevention guidelines.

A county official stated, “We will prioritize safety to ensure that vulnerable seniors do not get infected with COVID-19 at the job sites,” and added, “We expect this project to contribute to income security and social participation for seniors.”
