According to the Gwangju Bukbu Police Station on the 15th, a report was received around 11 a.m. the previous day about an object resembling a grenade in a residential area in Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City.
The informant told the police that the object was found near the septic tank of a residence.
As a result of the inspection conducted by the police and military authorities who responded to the scene, the object was identified as a non-lethal smoke grenade.
The surface was severely corroded, indicating that the smoke grenade had been left there for a long time.
