Official Service Launch for "National Certificate Verification via Naver"
Naver Signs MOU with Ministry of Employment, HRD Service, KCCI, and Kakao
[Asia Economy Reporter Joselgina] Naver has officially launched a service that allows users to easily verify the national technical certifications they have obtained among 495 types of national technical qualifications, including Information Processing Engineer and Korean Cuisine Cooking Technician. In the future, Naver plans to enhance the certification service and link it with internal services such as Naver Blog, Cafe, Knowledge iN, Knowledge iN Expert, and People Information.
On the afternoon of the 15th, Naver announced that it signed a five-party Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Employment and Labor, Human Resources Development Service of Korea, Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Kakao to provide mobile national certification and related services.
Accordingly, Naver will promote the expansion of national certification services such as mobile certificates based on digital platforms. When users authenticate themselves through the Naver Certificate, they can easily verify the certifications they have obtained among 495 types of national technical qualifications issued by the Human Resources Development Service of Korea. ▶January 8 report ([Exclusive] 'National Certifications' Added to Naver... Starting with national technical certifications such as Information Processing Engineer, Korean Cuisine Cooking Technician, and Forklift Operator Technician, Naver plans to provide access to eight types of certifications issued by the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, including Tax Accountant, Licensed Real Estate Agent, Social Worker, Computer Utilization Ability, and Word Processor, through the Naver certification service.
In particular, Naver certifications are automatically linked even before the physical certificates are mailed, making them more useful for users who need immediate certification. Additionally, users can check various information such as the issuance date, certification number, and certification details on the Naver app, significantly improving the inconvenience of storing or carrying physical certificates.
Naver first launched this certification service in beta on the 6th, and after about ten days of service stabilization, it has entered official service. Going forward, Naver plans to link the service in various ways with internal services such as Naver Blog, Cafe, Knowledge iN, Knowledge iN Expert, and People Information. For example, users can disclose their certification details on their Naver People Information, Blog, or Knowledge iN profiles to prove expertise, or use specific certifications as conditions for joining Cafes. This is expected to enhance the usability of certifications in non-face-to-face environments and provide a wider range of experiences through the Naver app.
Through this MOU, the Ministry of Employment and Labor will work on institutional improvements such as revising the National Technical Qualifications Act, while the Human Resources Development Service of Korea and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry will provide the necessary information for the mobile certification service.
