[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] The Blue House announced on the 14th that it held an NSC Standing Committee meeting chaired by National Security Office Director Suh Hoon to assess the situation on the Korean Peninsula, including the results of North Korea's 8th Party Congress.
The Blue House stated, "Participants of the (NSC) meeting reviewed the developments related to the 'detention of our vessel in the Strait of Hormuz' incident and the government's response status, and agreed to intensify whole-of-government efforts to ensure the prompt release of our citizens and vessel."
The Blue House added, "Ahead of the inauguration of the new U.S. administration, we decided to implement relevant measures to ensure there is no gap in the development of Korea-U.S. relations and progress in the Korean Peninsula peace process."
