Stop the War with Public Certificates... Do Year-End Tax Settlement with 'KakaoTalk Certificate'

On the 14th, Kakao announced that starting from the 15th, users can use the simplified year-end tax settlement service on the National Tax Service Hometax through the KakaoTalk Wallet certificate.
The Kakao certificate is a private certificate issued when creating a KakaoTalk Wallet, replacing the joint certificate (formerly public certificate). Currently, the Kakao certificate can be used for the National Tax Service Hometax and Government24 services such as issuing resident registration copies for year-end tax settlement. It will also be available on the National Sinmungo within this month.
The KakaoTalk Wallet can be created by agreeing to the terms and completing identity verification in the KakaoTalk More tab. Once the wallet is created, the certificate is issued. The Kakao certificate can be conveniently used without installing any separate programs or apps, simply by entering a password or using biometric authentication. The validity period is two years.
The National Tax Service Hometax simplified year-end tax settlement service can be used by anyone who creates a KakaoTalk Wallet and completes account verification authentication. On the simple authentication login screen of the National Tax Service Hometax, select the ‘KakaoTalk’ icon and enter information such as your phone number. Then, verify your identity by entering a 6-digit password or using biometric authentication in the authentication request message sent via KakaoTalk to complete the simple authentication login.

Kakao plans to expand the usage of the Kakao certificate and KakaoTalk Wallet by collaborating with various organizations, foundations, companies, and educational institutions that require mobile identity and qualification verification services. In addition to the Kakao certificate, the KakaoTalk Wallet will sequentially include electronic entry log QR check-in, 495 types of national technical qualifications issued by the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, and mobile driver’s license verification services.
