Gyeongbuk Province Develops Alcohol Culture Content Tourism Products ... Traditional Liquor and Tourism Dure 'Gourmet Travel' MOU
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Gyeongbuk Province announced on the 14th that Andong Soju (CEO Park Jae-seo), a master craftsman from Andong, Baekjudoga Yeongtak Makgeolli (CEO Baek Gu-young) from Yecheon, and the Gyeongbuk Tourism Dure Cooperation Center (Director Jeon Mi-kyung) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to develop the '2021 Gyeongbuk Alcohol and Food Gourmet Travel' product.
Andong Soju, made by nationally designated master craftsman Park Jae-seo, won the Grand Prize at the 2012 Korea Traditional Liquor Competition, the Double Gold Grand Prize at the 2013 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, and was recognized as a successful case of tourism revitalization through traditional liquor via projects such as the 'Train SulSul Train' organized by the Korea Tourism Organization and Korail in 2018-19.
Baekjudoga Yeongtak Makgeolli launched Yeongtak Makgeolli on May 13, 2020, receiving favorable reviews. It has won numerous awards, including the Consumer's Choice Brand of the Year in 2020 and being selected as the Best Traditional Liquor at the 4th National Traditional Liquor Evaluation in November 2020.
Last year, the Gyeongbuk Tourism Dure Cooperation Center has been promoting the 'Hulhul Sulsul' project under the theme 'A Toast of Comfort from Gyeongbuk' to actively respond to diverse tourism demands after the end of COVID-19 and to provide hope through the development and commercialization of distinctive local content.
