Kia Niro EV Wins Main Award in Small Electric Car Category at UK's 'What Car Awards'
Kia Motors Honored with Award for 4 Consecutive Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Kia Motors' e-Niro (Korean name Niro EV) won the main prize in the small electric vehicle category at the '2021 What Car Awards' held in the UK on the 13th (local time). Now in its 44th year, the What Car Awards is an event hosted by What Car, the UK's leading automotive media outlet, renowned as the most prestigious in Europe.
Kia Motors has been honored with awards for four consecutive years, including the Picanto (City Car of the Year) in 2018, the Niro EV (Car of the Year) and Picanto (City Car of the Year) in 2019, the Picanto (Value Car of the Year) in 2020, and the Sorento (Large SUV of the Year) in 2021.
The Niro EV received high marks for its product appeal and reasonable price, boasting a driving range of 455 km per charge (WLTP standard) and best-in-class space utilization.

This is not the first time the Niro EV has received favorable evaluations in the UK. It has continued to earn praise, including winning the 2019 What Car Awards Car of the Year and the 2020 UK Car of the Year (UKCOTY) Best Crossover.
