With this, The New Kona lineup now includes the gasoline 1.6 turbo model and 1.6 hybrid model, as well as the N Line, which were launched last October, along with the newly added 2.0 gasoline model.
The newly added The New Kona 2.0 gasoline model is equipped with a Smartstream 2.0 naturally aspirated gasoline engine and a Smartstream continuously variable transmission (IVT). This combination delivers a power output of 149 horsepower and a combined fuel efficiency of 13.6 km/ℓ, providing a smooth driving experience.
The prices for The New Kona 2.0 gasoline model are ▲Smart 19.62 million KRW ▲Modern 21.75 million KRW ▲Inspiration 26.48 million KRW. This is approximately 700,000 KRW cheaper compared to the existing 1.6 gasoline turbo model.
Additionally, The New Kona 2.0 gasoline qualifies as a Grade 3 low-emission vehicle, meeting emission standards that allow for benefits such as a 50% discount on public parking fees (in the Seoul metropolitan area) and a 20% discount at 14 airport parking lots nationwide, providing further cost savings during vehicle operation.
To celebrate the launch of The New Kona 2.0 gasoline, Hyundai Motor Company is also conducting various promotional events. First, customers who test drive The New Kona will receive vehicle items such as a car air freshener and a door guard set to prevent door dings. A notable feature is the use of the turtle character from the TV commercial, which symbolizes Kona’s agility. Furthermore, among customers who purchase The New Kona, 400 Hyundai Digital Key app members will be selected to receive coupons for the ‘Pickup and Car Wash’ service, which allows contactless vehicle receipt using the digital key sharing function, followed by a car wash before returning the vehicle to the customer.
A Hyundai Motor Company representative stated, “We actively reflected customer feedback desiring smooth driving performance and decided to launch the Kona 2.0 gasoline model domestically, which was previously only available in North America. The 2.0 gasoline model, inheriting the qualities of The New Kona, will satisfy customers’ detailed and diverse needs.”
