[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] On the afternoon of the 13th, Park Young-sun, Minister of SMEs and Startups, visited the Seoul Gangwon Regional Headquarters of the Small Enterprise and Market Service located in Mapo-gu, Seoul, and said, "I hope all executives and employees of the Small Enterprise and Market Service will unite and make further efforts to pay the support fund as quickly as possible."
While checking the application and payment status of the Small Business Support Fund on the day, Minister Park made this request and, after receiving a report from Cho Bong-hwan, Chairman of the Small Enterprise and Market Service, on the application and payment status of the support fund and the main consultation contents of the help desk, encouraged the employees of the Service who are making desperate efforts for rapid fund execution.
He also highly evaluated the execution status of the support fund. He said, "I think Korea can provide convenience to the people through administration based on the fastest database in the world," adding, "The countries that disbursed the support funds the fastest were Switzerland and Germany. These countries take one or two days. We have not yet found a case where the support fund is deposited into the bank account within 2 to 3 hours like ours."
Minister Park then praised the efforts of the Small Enterprise and Market Service executives and employees, saying, "The 'New Hope Fund' paid in September last year and this 'Small Business Support Fund' are the first policies to pay trillions of won in cash to more than 2 million small business owners within 2 to 3 days. This policy was possible thanks to the efforts of the Service employees who fought a total war on the front lines."
He continued, "I hope all executives and employees of the Small Enterprise and Market Service will unite and make further efforts to pay the support fund as quickly as possible, and I ask that you actively carry out administration so that small business owners who have difficulties applying online can receive guidance on how to apply when visiting the Service."

To small business owners facing difficulties, he comforted them by saying, "The mission of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups is how to successfully catch the two rabbits of quarantine and economy, and I think we need to demonstrate operational skills under the premise that 'quarantine = economy.' Small business owners have really suffered and endured pain, and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups will do its best as a ministry that empathizes with such pain and serves as a support pillar, like a motherly hill to lean on."
