On the 10th, the 1st Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea was held in the Central Committee Headquarters meeting room, according to a report by the Korean Central News Agency on the 11th.

The Workers' Party's official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, reported on the 13th that General Secretary Kim Jong-un stated in his concluding remarks the previous day, "We must do everything to strengthen nuclear war deterrence and build the strongest military power."
Kim also added, "All sectors and units must find specific tasks and methods to carry out the new five-year plan for national economic development and execute them without fail."
No separate messages were issued regarding the United States or South Korea, and the original text of the Central Committee's report and resolution summary was not disclosed.
The Party Congress, which opened on the 5th, concluded after a total of eight days on the 12th.
This is the second-longest congress schedule in history, following the 5th Party Congress in May 1970, which lasted 12 days.
