Gwangju City Implements 'Hygiene Management Grading System' for Food Manufacturing and Processing Companies
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Gwangju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 12th that it will conduct the "2021 Food Manufacturing and Processing Business Hygiene Management Grade Evaluation."
The inspection targets 196 food manufacturing and processing businesses within the jurisdiction and will be evaluated over a total of 10 months from February to November.
The main inspection items include ▲whether expired products or raw materials are used or sold ▲hygienic management of manufacturing and storage facilities ▲compliance with hygienic handling standards, among others.
The evaluation consists of a total of 120 items with a perfect score of 200 points, including 45 basic survey items, 47 basic management evaluation items, and 28 excellent management evaluation items. Based on the inspection results, businesses will be classified as self-managed, general management, or focused management.

Additionally, self-managed businesses will be exempt from entry and inspection for two years and will receive priority support for loan projects aimed at improving hygiene management facilities.
