Sejong Realizes Economic Self-Sufficiency... Fosters '5 Major New Industries' Including Future Cars
[Asia Economy (Sejong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Sejong City is establishing and promoting the '2030 Future Growth Industry Master Plan,' focusing on fostering five new industries to realize an economically self-sufficient city.
According to the city on the 12th, the five new industries included in the master plan are ▲Smart City ▲Future Car Mobility ▲Biohealth ▲Immersive Content ▲Smart Green Convergence Parts and Materials Industry.
The city has prepared 15 implementation strategies, 34 strategic tasks, and 73 detailed tasks to foster these industries and plans to invest 3.85 trillion KRW by 2030.
In particular, to ensure effective execution of the master plan, the city will launch the 'Five Future Growth Industries Development Promotion Team' in the first half of this year, co-led by the city’s Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs and the head of Sejong Technopark.
Through this, the city aims to nurture 50 core companies in the five new industry sectors and attract 500 related companies by 2030.
Above all, the five new industries will be linked with their respective upstream and downstream related industries to enhance companies' convergence technology competitiveness. The city plans to set the technology development stages and core items for each industry to enable seamless linkage and cooperation without overlap among industries.
The city also envisions creating 30,000 jobs and generating 2 trillion KRW in corporate added value through the future ecosystem of the five new industries.
