Since 2019, Yuhan-Kimberly has been making efforts to improve the packaging film of sanitary pads to sustainable materials. After participating in the Ministry of Environment's voluntary agreement to 'reduce excessive packaging' in September last year, the company has been working to reduce environmental impact by lowering the use of new plastic in all secondary packaging applied to bundled products by 30% until November.
In addition, Yuhan-Kimberly has started product planning for more effective packaging reduction and developed additional large-capacity planned products by reducing secondary packaging of bundled products. The newly developed large-capacity products reportedly reduce plastic packaging film by about 40% compared to existing similar bundled products.
This special large-capacity planned product includes medium and large sizes of Yuhan-Kimberly's main sanitary pad products such as ‘Joheun Neukkim Organic Cotton Cover’, ‘Joheun Neukkim Air Fit Cushion’, ‘Joheun Neukkim Good Cotton’, and ‘White Secret Hole’. They are composed of 60 and 54 pieces respectively.

A Yuhan-Kimberly representative said, “The large-capacity products not only have an environmental effect by reducing repackaging but also align with the recent consumer trend of larger shopping basket sizes as people spend more time at home. We plan to provide related products and prepare various communications so that consumers can choose products more comfortably without worrying about packaging burden.”
