4 New Tournaments Established, 10 with Total Prize Money Over 1 Billion KRW, Including 3 Overseas Tournaments in Taiwan, Vietnam, and Singapore

This is the scale of the 2021 season of the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour. On the 12th, it was announced that "there will be 31 tournaments, total prize money of 28 billion KRW, and an average of 900 million KRW, making it the largest ever." The actual total prize money increased by 2.7 billion KRW compared to 2019. They proudly stated, "Despite the impact of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), we are holding the largest scale ever," adding, "This is the result of continuous sponsorship from existing sponsors, increased prize money, and the addition of new tournaments."
Newly established tournaments include the Daebo Championship, Dongbu Construction Championship, and Hana Financial Group Singapore Ladies Open, totaling at least four. From the end of November, three tournaments will be held consecutively abroad in Taiwan, Vietnam, and Singapore. However, these tournaments will take place after the conclusion of the 2021 season final and will be included in the 2022 season. There are as many as 10 tournaments with prize money exceeding 1 billion KRW, and the average prize money has increased by 37% from 660 million KRW five years ago.

The opening tournament is the Lotte Rent-a-Car Ladies Open, which will kick off on April 8 at Jeju Lotte Skyhill Golf Course, and the final stage is the SK Telecom·ADT Caps Championship held on November 12 at La Vie Belle Golf Course in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province. "Although the difficult situation continues due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, this year will be held on the largest scale ever," said Chairman Kim Sang-yeol, expressing gratitude to the sponsors and all related parties who generously supported the tour, and emphasizing, "Above all, we will create a safe tour."
